| My puppet career began with my apprenticeship with the Bread and Puppet Theater in Vermont Soon after I built my own "one-man traveling Punch and Judy show" and entertained thousands of college students on campus in the Northeast doing a street theater show. I became an artist in residence under the auspices of the ct commission of the arts in 1978 and founded a puppet company Wunderlee and Wilson's Traveling puppet shows and toured throughout New England and as far south as North Carolina. I went on to produce a children's show on Channel 20 WTXX for eight years as the character TX Critter 1984-1992. I spent two years as a docent at the Yale University Art Gallery where I taught mask-making and visual arts. I have been a guest presenter for the commission on Jewish education in mask and puppet making. ....."Don is one of the few Punch and Judy performers in America...... That really was an amazing show... I remember seeing
puppet shows as a child, and loving them. Evan really
enjoys puppets, too. I haven't seen anything like your
show in ages, if ever. You've got the kids' sense of
humor figured out, that is for sure! And you didn't forget
about the grown-ups either (but never bored the kids at
those grown-up moments). You moved fast, the pace of
the kids' attention spans. And I loved your ability for
improv, incorporating what the children said or did in
response to the show. I would most definitely
recommend you to anyone seeking a puppet show!!
