| My puppet career began with my apprenticeship with the Bread and Puppet Theater in Vermont Soon after I built my own "one-man traveling Punch and Judy show" and entertained thousands of college students on campus in the Northeast doing a street theater show. I became an artist in residence under the auspices of the ct commission of the arts in 1978 and founded a puppet company Wunderlee and Wilson's Traveling puppet shows and toured throughout New England and as far south as North Carolina. I went on to produce a children's show on Channel 20 WTXX for eight years as the character TX Critter 1984-1992. I spent two years as a docent at the Yale University Art Gallery where I taught mask-making and visual arts. I have been a guest presenter for the commission on Jewish education in mask and puppet making. ....."Don is one of the few Punch and Judy performers in America...... The Wunderlee puppets would be considered a national treasure in other countries of the world......."Fred Rogers of Mr Rogers Neighborhood.... |
